The base roster and base game was terrible, not paying for that 2. “I’ll forever hate FighterZ for these reasons 1. Depth might be the wrong word I’m looking for here.

I want to be supportive of the series again, because I grew up with DBZ, but it’s hard to do so when the series doesn’t really have much depth to it. I would love for a game to introduce something new to the series, but again what can you even do with the series at this point? The power-scaling is broken, and the plot has become “give the main characters absurd powercreep to beat the insanely strong villain”. Every game has already done that, why would I care to replay the Z saga again just because it’s in HD and has a level system now? It’s literally just the Z Saga retold again, but in HD.

I refused to buy DBZ: Kakarot because we all know full well what it is. And again they couldn’t just leave out the annoying microtransactions. But the inclusion of the “Supervillain” plot, replaying the Z saga yet again, and all the repetitive parallel quests felt over-the-top, unecessary, and boring. I did buy Xenoverse 2, because I thought maybe the games have gotten better since Budokai. As a fighting game, it’s inferior to Budokai Tenkaichi They release a base game at full price and expect me to buy the fighter’s pass for all the desired characters that were locked behind a paywall? No way. I’ll forever hate FighterZ for these reasons 1.
The games and story don’t really offer anything new at this point. Every new arc/series is now just Goku & Vegeta train like hell, side characters get ignored, there’s no real character growth, get new power-ups, and defeat the stronger enemy. My gripe with Dragon Ball is that the concept has gotten redundant. I was supportive of dragonball up until the Budokai Tenkaichi series ended. Now why in the world would I want to see a first person shooter of all things? That’s just as irrelevant as this spin-off. James I apologise for the length beforehand, didn’t mean to make it this long lol.
